Music plays an important and enjoyable part in the life of the school and is taught regularly in each year group.
Our use of the Surrey Arts Interactive, Charanga scheme of work gives many opportunities for the children to sing, dance, and play percussion instruments and string instruments. They learn to appreciate the work of famous composers and to compose and record their own music. Older children have the opportunity to learn to play the recorder (Abba's Mamma Mia has been known to be Year 2's culmination of a year's work in the past....)
The staff are also still learning how to play the ukulele along with the children, which has been enjoyable so far!
The children are given opportunities to perform at annual events such as our Harvest, Christmas and Easter celebrations and also at school assemblies.
